The history of Rullingen Castle goes back to the counts of Loon, who in centuries past left their indelible mark on the history of Belgian and Dutch Limburg with this place as their headquarters. During the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the castle acquired its present proportions through the efforts of these counts. In the 1920s, the castle's owner, Baron Pangaert d'Opdorp du Roi de Blicquy, commissioned the architect Langerock to restore it to its original Brabant style, returning to Rullingen Castle the charms of ages past.
In Borgloon, a lovely old town in Belgian Limburg located only 10 kilometers from the historic cities of Tongeren and Sint-Truiden, you'll find historic Rullingen Castle. Today the castle is a luxurious and comfortable hotel-restaurant where the owner himself rules the kitchen.
The castle boasts charming salons and a pleasant bar, the Orangerie. The modern rooms, each one unique, are furnished with every possible convenience. Together they make Rullingen an inn of rest and good taste.
